A better photo. A clearer reading.
Small changes in pose can make a big difference to a 2D measurement. Keep the setup simple and consistent.
Start straight on
Keep the camera at eye level and look directly toward it. Hold your head level rather than looking up, down or over your shoulder. Include the forehead, chin and both sides of the face.
Use a neutral expression and avoid deliberately opening the eyes wide or pressing the lips together. Move hair away from the eyes and face outline.
Choose soft, even light
Face a window or another broad light source. Strong shadows, bright backlighting and very dark images can hide landmarks. Remove sunglasses and avoid filters or face-altering effects.
Keep your distance consistent
Avoid placing a wide-angle phone camera very close to the face. Use a stable camera position and keep the distance similar when comparing two photos. This makes the comparison easier to interpret, but does not turn it into a 3D measurement.
Use a supported image
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP file under 10 MB with no more than 40 megapixels. One clearly visible face should fill a useful part of the frame. HEIC files need to be exported as JPG or PNG first.
Only use a photo you have permission to analyze. The tool is intended for people aged 18 or older. It does not verify age or identity.
If detection does not work
Try a brighter, sharper front-facing photo, with the whole face visible. Remove other faces from the frame. If the model cannot load, check your connection or try a current desktop or mobile browser.
The first run downloads landmark software from this site. The local scan is free. Starting AI analysis requires separate consent and either account credits or a paid guest report. A resized JPEG is then sent to Replicate. Choosing another photo clears the pending photo from this browser; it does not retract a completed provider request or delete a report already stored for your account or guest order.
